- Another reason its so common, perhaps, is that an IDE "controller" is really nothing
- more than a set of line drivers and/or buffers. The hard drive has all the
- necessary electronics to "hook up" and work without much more needed. This makes an
- IDE "interface" really, really cheap to design and implement.
